What Size Should I Buy?

New Customers:

There are roughly two levels of odor problems.

Mild to Average odor problems involve the laundry itself smelling after it is used. A 1 lb bottle should get the odor under control if you have a mild problem. You probably run enough loads you don't need much Nu Fresh.

For removing mold from the door gasket in a machine that does not have an odor problem a 1 lb bottle should be more than enough.

However, most people find this site because they have a tough problem.

Tough problems are when the machine itself, the laundry room, or the the whole house have odor issues. Nu fresh is slow acting and will clean up the machine by itself eventually. However, if you use the Nu Fresh Super Shock Treatment to remove as much of the build up as possible, as quickly as possible, you will probably need less than 2 lbs. You will also save a lot of time and money taking control of the odor problem.

Once the machine is under control it does not take much Nu Fresh to continue control. 2 lbs should last about 4-6 months with normal use. Your usage will depend on you specific situation.

The 5 lb size is for those who use Nu Fresh by itself as fragrance free detergent for common laundry cleaning needs using hot water. It is also the best deal for those who just want to drive down costs in this day and age. Or, just want to make sure they don't run out.

The Nu Fresh formula has been improved to broaden its effectivness. Nu Fresh should now work better for people that only do a few loads a week. The new materials that have been added make the powder look different though. You will see more kinds of crystals.

Also:

Due to popular request the buckets have been replaced with a Nalgene screw top jar for the 2 lb size only. The jar and the 2 lb bottle each contain the same amount (32 oz). The jar has a large opening for a scoop to give easier dispensing. The price difference is mostly the difference in the container prices.

We continue to have reusable, heavy duty, Nalgene camping bottles in 1lb, 2lb and 5lb sizes. The bottle cap can be used for measuring if you wish. We use these high quality containers because they are almost the same price as disposable containers but they can be reused for many purposes. In addition both bottles and jars are made of HDPE so they can definitely be recycled at their ultimate end of life.
