The 2 lb jar comes with a 1 oz scoop
or
Use the bottle cap to measure out the
Nu Fresh. (1 lb or 2 lb bottle caps sizes are similar)
Both
give approximately the same amount.
In the long run you will settle on an amount that
works for you so measurements are somewhat relative anyway --------------------
The
preferred method is to put a capful or two of Nu Fresh into the detergent dispenser drawer on top of the
detergent so you sanitize the entire dispenser system too.
Some machines will not put enough water through the liquid dispenser tub to dissolve the Nu Fresh completely.
if that happens
Remove the small tub in the drawer used for liquid. and try again. Liquid first then Nu Fresh on.top.
If
there still are issues
Put a level capful or two of Nu Fresh into the drum with the laundry.
---------------------
The
amount you need depends on how you use your washer. Experience is the only answer to determine the correct amount
The problem is complicated, that is why it is so hard to control.
You should always try to use
the smallest amount possible after you have the odor problem under control.

Product Use Suggestions:
__________
Black Mold on Gasket
Nu Fresh will sanitize the gasket surface as it is used overtime. The
mold gets down into the pores of the rubber and is hard to get to.
To speed up the removal of the stuff
on the gasket: Mix 2 scoops of Nu Fresh in 1 cup of hot water. Soak a rag in the solution Place the wet rag
on top of the gasket where the mold is. Let it sit for at least 12 hours lightly scrubbing every now and then to
get fresh solution to the surface of the gasket. When done, scrub off as much of the black mold and you can. This
will remove all the stuff on the surface that would otherwise come off on the laundry
The remaining stain
will disappear over time as Nu Fresh is used.

If you are getting a new machine and want to start out under control:
These instructions essentially kick start
the control process.
Use Nu Fresh in the first three loads at 3 capfuls per load.
Then
use normally as needed.
Since you are going to get detergent film on
the plumbing as soon as you use the machine, you should put down a coating that has a high concentration
of Nu Fresh in it.
That would be the most effective way of starting out using the machine.
Even if
the machine had been used already, a couple of Nu Fresh shock treatment flushes, should get you back to
a clean enough surface for this to also work.
It seems the contamination level is affected more by idle time rather
than loads run.
So try to do this treatment within 2-3 weeks of starting to use the machine.
___________________
However,
in most cases, the machine has been in use and has had a long time to get the nasties growing into all
the nooks and crannies of the plumbing.
Then you have to do the complete Nu Fresh shock treatment flush
procedure to get ahead of the build up of gunk.
After which you will fall into one of the categories below
__________________________________________________
If you do many loads
every week, a couple of loads almost every day: You should not need to use a lot of Nu Fresh. Start
with a capful in every load until you get the odor under control Then back off to one load twice a week Note how
long it takes for the smell to return. You now know your range of control, increase as necessary
________________________
If you do more than 3 or 4 loads a week but you do them over 1 or 2 days with the machine
sitting for most of the week: Use Nu Fresh in the first 2 loads of the week and the last 2 loads of the week
for best chance of success
________________________
If you do 3 or less loads per week:
the machine will have a long time to sit and get stinky you will need to add Nu Fresh to every load for
the best chance of success.
________________________
If the machine sits unused for longer
than 7-10 days: you will need to run an empty load with hot water to flush out the water that is in the
plumbing before you start doing the laundry. Then use Nu Fresh with the first 3 loads and the last 2 loads
_________________________________________________________
Nu Fresh will
have maximum effect it you use 1 capful in every load you run. But it usually is not necessary.
Less
than half a capful in a load when you are using a regular schedule as above, results in poor odor control
More than two capfuls in a load is a waste of material, unless you are trying to remove existing mildew
smell from laundry. Then it is the correct amount...
Always rinse your hands after handling Nu Fresh.
Notice how easily it rinses off, just like it completely rinses out of the laundry fabrics. Yet, it sticks
to the detergent that is coating the plumbing. Its Magic! OK, its chemistry and it is explained elsewhere on this
site.
Nu Fresh does not suds-up or damage clothes like the competition can. Nu Fresh Deodorizer contains pure, concentrated, technical
grade materials.
Nu Fresh does
not contain fragrance of any kind.
Over the years there have been no reported instances of people with
sensitivities having any issues.
(our customers are smart and quite vocal so we would have heard)
